GDHN Monthly Meeting: Merci Mon Héros, Utilizing Digital to Champion Empathy for Youth, and Monitor Results
May 13, 2021 – 9 am EDT with French Interpretation
Description: Merci Mon Héros, which means “thank you, my hero”, is a multimedia campaign (social media, mass media, community activities) that leverages testimonial videos to showcase the power of empathy to improve reproductive health (RH) and family planning (FP) access for young people in francophone Africa. Disseminated to date in nine countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Togo, Burkina Faso, the youth-led campaign aims to reduce the impact of social norms that prevent youth from accessing RH/FP information and services.
Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs-led Breakthrough ACTION and Population Council-led Breakthrough RESEARCH to learn the role digital plays in creating, monitoring, and adjusting campaign content and strategy. Social media dissemination, digital content creation, and social listening are all program components which were discussed in this 60-minute webinar. Simultaneous French interpretation included.
