From Assessment to Action: Using a Maturity Model Approach to Strengthen eHealth and Health Information Systems
During this meeting, the presenters shared the background and development process for the HIS Interoperability Maturity Toolkit. This toolkit, along with the Global Digital Health Index and the HIS Stages of Continuous Improvement, is part of a suite of assessment tools developed under the Health Data Collaborative Digital Health and Interoperability working group to provide countries with a systematic approach to assessing the enabling environment for health information systems interoperability and digital health. A representative from the Ministry of Health in Uganda shared how Uganda has used these assessments and their results in planning for eHealth and HIS in Uganda. The presenters also reflected on using a maturity model approach in this context and some of the lessons learned.
